Kim Maxwell

I began practicing yoga seriously in the shadow of the mountains in the middle of Oregon in 2000.  Snowboard during the day, stretch it all out in the evening.  Little did I know the impact that time would have on the rest of my life.

I moved back to Fayetteville, and spent a large part of 2004 pursuing my yoga teaching certification from the Asheville Yoga Center – in fabulous company, I might add.  I have been teaching a variety of yoga classes since that time.

I enjoy the flowing, liquid movement that can extend from the breath if you let yourself find that rhythm that is so uniquely your own.  I love how you can make yourself feel better if you just take the time to listen to yourself.

My very favorite part of yoga is the sense that for that short period of time, I am as present as I can possibly be in this body, in this life, and in this moment.  For that brief time, my mind does not rule with the usual constant chatter.  Instead, I spend the time necessary to find my inner quiet.

I truly believe that yoga has something to offer every single person.  I am so honored to be able to assist people in the process, the dance, the practice of yoga.
